About This Place

Senor Ric's Mexican Restaurant, nestled in the heart of Aurora, Colorado, serves up a vibrant and authentic taste of Mexico that is both comforting and memorable. This beloved establishment has cultivated a loyal following by offering a menu brimming with classic Mexican favorites and flavorful specialties, each plate prepared with care and tradition. Walking into Senor Ric’s, you’ll immediately notice a casual, unpretentious atmosphere — a place where hearty meals, generous portions, and genuine hospitality come together, even if the ambiance carries a bit of that nostalgic, lived-in charm reminiscent of a cherished local diner.

Their culinary offerings are a celebration of Mexican flavors, from the zesty spice of the Two Cheese Enchiladas Combo smothered in rich sauce and melted cheese, to the perfectly crispy Chicken Chimichanga that boasts a delightful crunch on the outside and juicy, seasoned chicken within. The menu also features crowd-pleasing staples like the Ric’s Platter, which showcases a delightful assortment of house favorites, ensuring every bite is a new adventure.

For those who appreciate the finer details, the Chili Relleno surprises with a roasted green chili stuffed generously with jalapeño cheese, all lovingly battered and fried, then cloaked in the restaurant’s signature special sauce — a dish that marries creamy, spicy, and savory notes flawlessly. Lighter options like the Chicken Fajita Salad offer freshness and vibrant colors, showcasing tender grilled chicken atop crisp greens, paired with guacamole and sour cream for a cool, creamy contrast.

No meal at Senor Ric’s is complete without indulging in one of their handcrafted margaritas. The Ric’s Gold Margarita has become an iconic house favorite, perfectly balancing tart lime with a smooth, golden tequila finish. For dessert, the Fried Ice Cream is a must-try — a blissful blend of crunchy shell and cold, sweet center that offers a satisfying end to any meal.

Patrons have shared heartfelt affirmations of their dining experiences here. Longtime guests like James Dugan reveal how meals at Senor Ric's are woven into family traditions, celebrating special moments with huge portions and favorite drinks. Newer visitors, such as Derek Olivas, highlight the nostalgic home-cooked feel of the food — reminiscent of meals prepared by a beloved aunt or grandma, packed with authentic flavor and heart. Even those ordering delivery, like Nick R., appreciate the consistently rich flavors, especially the standout green chile, which elevates the menu beyond the usual.

While some have noted that the ambiance could benefit from a little refreshment, with mentions of worn ceiling tiles and occasional loud diners, it is clear that the food and service create a welcoming environment that keeps guests coming back. Customer "S Hearon" aptly summarizes the experience: despite a dated décor and occasional distractions, the quality of the food and attentive service shine through, making Senor Ric's a reliable spot for genuine Mexican cravings.

Good service, food is good, drinks are good, ambiance reminds me of a worn out casino diner. Could use a cleaning the ceiling tile looks like it’s been around since the smoking inside age, dusty and yellowed. But if you can get past the loud rude Karen’s that get seated near you then the food is good and service is good. We will be back.

I've been here twice. I have not been let down by the food or the service. The portions are amazing considering the price. Mexican food that will remind you of your favorite auntie or grandma's home meals for sure. Will definitely be back for more!

I have gotten food delivered from here several times recently. I can't complain about the food flavor at all. The only thing to complain about is when you get combos, they don't always make it easy to determine which combo is which. They are a lot better now than what they were years ago. The green chile is really good.

7 Years ago I had their Spinach Enchiladas. We moved back to Colorado recently and went there again. I had the Spinach Enchiladas again, and I was not disappointed. They were as delicious as I remembered them. Thank you Senor Rick's. We have found the restaurant we will cater to for a wonderful Mexican meal. Your prices are very reasonable as well.

My family has been eating here since they opened in the 80's. Recently just took my mother there for her 83rd birthday. The food is awesome and the portions are huge. Ric's Gold Margaritas are our favorite drink. Excellent experience every time we go!
